Sparkling Showcase of Club Photography in Ireland

Entries are now open for the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) Photographer and Nature Photographer of the Year 2020 through the IPF Website.

Open to members of affiliated clubs; these competitions are a unique fixture on the IPF Calendar as they seek to recognise the talents of individual club photographers.

Entries will close at midnight on Sunday, 24th November 2019.

There are some changes to the format of this year’s competitions based on feedback from previous years. Full details can be found in the competitions section of the IPF website or in the top right hand corner of the competition registration pages. There you will also find a helpful video tutorial on how to use the entry software.

The Regional qualifying rounds will take place in January 2020. Details as follows; Mid-East Region 11th January Grand Hotel Malahide (prints collected the week before), Mid-West Region 25th January Maldron Hotel Portlaoise, North-East Region 11th January The Workhouse Carrickmacross and the SACC Region 25th January Horse & Jockey Tipperary (print collection points across the region before the round, see the SACC website for details).
The finals are due to be held on the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd February 2020 at the Talbot Hotel, Carlow.

We are very grateful to our sponsors; One Photographic, Camera Filters Ireland, Explore Light Workshops and Canon Ireland, many of whom will have trade stands at the finals again this year.
Canon Ireland will once again be providing a mirrorless camera for our prize draw (remember tickets can only be purchased with your entries; so make sure to tick that prize draw box after uploading your images!)

The success of the competitions depend entirely on the hard work of the volunteers who give of their time freely, year on year, hosting the regional rounds and finals. Their dedication to photography in Ireland is matched only by the entrants, who submit their work each year in increasing numbers; making the IPF Photographer and Nature Photographer of the Year competitions a sparkling showcase of club photography in Ireland!

More details can be found on the IPF website, www.irishphoto.ie or on the IPF Facebook page.
