This form should be used by photographers wishing to apply for IPF distinctions for print panels in May 2026. Audio Visual workers should apply via the AV Distinction Application Form.
All queries on distinction applications should be emailed to distinctions@irishphoto.ie.
Re: Non-Eu applications: Where non-EU applicants are shipping their panel by post/courier, the distinctions secretary will supply a label to be attached to the parcel, intended to mitigate any customs/VAT charges that may be applied. The parcel should state goods for temporary exhibition only and specify minimum value. Applicants should note that duty/VAT may still be charged due to automatic customs processes. Should this happen, the IPF will pay the duty or VAT so as not to impede delivery of the parcel. In such cases, the applicant will be notified of the amount, which should be re-imbursed to the IPF Treasurer.
Return parcels should cost in the region of €25 to €30 and this amount will be notified to the applicant, for re-imbursement to the IPF Treasurer.
Applicants are reminded to consult the distinction handbooks for the level of distinction which they are applying for. These handbooks contain important information for submitting your application.
------ NOTE – This is a PRINT Assessment ------
Those applying for AIPF or FIPF who are using their LIPF as the qualifying criteria to apply must be current with their annual distinction fee.
You have indicated that you are a member of an IPF affiliated club, so now you need to complete the following section to avail of the reduced fee available to members of IPF affiliated clubs.
If your club is not listed below, it means that your club is not affiliated to the IPF and you must select instead the option for non affiliated club member above. Clubs should note that a completed application form along with the fee is required to complete application for membership.
We do not have a facility to store panels after assessment. Panels must be collected on the day of assessment when the session is completed or we can arrange to ship your panel back to you.
Applicants must proceed with the assessment date they applied for. Changes of date are not allowed. If an applicant does not fulfill the date applied for, the application is regarded as cancelled and the application fee will not be refunded.
While very care will be taken by the IPF to ensure that material submitted will be handled properly, the IPF cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to submissions received.
The IPF insists that the entire content of photographs entered in competitions and distinctions must be created by the photographer using a camera.
Partially or entirely AI generated images are not permitted for IPF distinctions.
The IPF allows the use of AI techniques provided that the process completely relies on only using pixels from the original image.
