FIAP

fiapThe IPF represents Ireland at the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the worldwide body for photographic art. FIAP is the sole body for photographic art recognised by UNESCO and has its headquarters in Luxembourg.

FIAP offers a range of services that can be availed of by members of the IPF. The most popular of these is a range of internationally recognised distinctions, the Artist FIAP, Excellence FIAP (and levels), and Master FIAP. These Distinctions are gained through a process of points accumulation based on image acceptance at specified international competitions, commonly referred to as “Salons”, that have formally been granted FIAP Patronage.

Each year FIAP also hold international competitions called FIAP Biennials. These are hosted by different federations around the world each year and each competition is a separate event.

In recent years, FIAP have also introduced a Clubs’ World Cup – open to camera clubs worldwide.
