Affiliating with the Irish Photographic Federation

Affiliation with the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) gives clubs and their members access to the full range of IPF services, activities and events.

The annual affiliation period runs from 1 January to 31 December, with fees due at the start of January each year.

Members of affiliated clubs may:

  • Enter IPF competitions
  • Apply for IPF distinctions at the affiliated rate
  • Attend IPF workshops, talks, and other events

The Affiliation Process

Affiliation is only confirmed when all three steps below are completed.
Payment on its own does not constitute affiliation.

  1. Complete the Online Affiliation Form (Required)

All clubs must submit the affiliation form each year, even if no details have changed.

The form is used to:

  • Confirm the club’s current officers and official contact details
  • Verify the club’s eligibility and governance
  • Generate the IPF’s official affiliation database
  • Allow the IPF to correctly match payments to clubs

Important: The IPF cannot update club details manually. All updates must be made using the online form, as this is the system that generates the official affiliation records.

  1. Submit Required Documentation

As part of the form, clubs are required to upload:

  • A copy of the club’s Public Liability Insurance certificate
  • A copy of the club’s constitution

Affiliation cannot be completed without these documents.

  1. Pay the Annual Affiliation Fee

Clubs may pay by PayPal or bank transfer, as directed in the form.

Because payment is often made by an individual on behalf of a club, the form must include:

  • The name and email of the person making the paypal payment

OR

  • The name on the account of the person paying by bank transfer.

This information is essential to allow us to correctly identify and confirm your club’s payment.

Keeping Club Details Up to Date (Essential)

It is essential that affiliated clubs keep their contact details up to date.

The email addresses provided in the affiliation form are used to send important IPF communications, including:

  • Competition and distinction information
  • Deadlines and procedural updates
  • Notices relevant to clubs and their members

If your details are not kept up to date, your club may miss important information.

When committee officers change (for example, following an AGM), clubs must update their details using the online form. Requests to update details by email cannot be accommodated.

Important Notes

  • Clubs that submit payment without completing the form will not be affiliated until the form and required documents are received.
  • Where payment cannot be confidently matched to a submitted form, affiliation will be delayed.
  • It is the responsibility of each club to ensure their affiliation process is fully completed.

Once the affiliation process is complete, your club will appear on the Affiliated Clubs page of the IPF website.
