The overall results of the Colour Biennial have been issued and we are thrilled to let you know that Ireland was placed 2nd in the Colour Print section and was awarded a FIAP Gold Medal. Ireland submitted a panel of 10 prints on the theme “Ladies in Red”. Derville Conroy received an individual FIAP Gold Medal for her print “Circus Tears” – the highest individual award in the Biennial. Gabriel O’Shaughnessy received an IPF HM for his print “The Red Rose”.
In the Digital section we submitted a panel of 20 images on the theme “Facial Hair”. This was placed 3rd and received a FIAP Silver Medal. Kenny Gibson was awarded an IPF Silver Medal for his image “The Time Keeper” and Peter Adams was awarded an IPF HM for his image “The Artisan”.
There were a total of 851 images submitted to the Biennial across both sections from 36 countries. This is one of the best results ever for Ireland at a FIAP Biennial and huge congratulations are due to all whose images represented Ireland. Special thanks to the FIAP selection panel members Paul Stanley FIPF EFIAP/p ESFIAP, Helen Hanifan FIPF EFIAP/d1, Suzanne Behan FIPF ARPS, Gabriel O’Shaughnassy FIPF MFIAP EFIAP/p FRPS, and Dominic Reddin FIPF for their dedication, expertise, and hard work in ensuring Ireland was represented by the strongest possible entry. Sincere thank you to Permajet for sponsoring the prints. A special FIAP edition of our newsletter will issue this week with more details and FIAP news, tips and advice.
