The Irish Photographic Federation’s 31st National Audio Visual Championships & 4th International Audio Visual Competition took place on 19th & 20th October in Áras Chrónáin Ionad Cultúrtha, Clondalkin. It was hosted by East Leinster Audio Visual Group and organised by the IPF AV Group Committee. The judges were Jill Bunting CPAGB & John Smith APAGB, CPAGB. Thanks to both for judging these events.
19 sequences were entered in the National Competition and both Jill and John commented on each with constructive advice. There were 30 entries in the International section from South Africa, England, Wales, Northern and Southern Ireland.
There was a new specially commissioned trophy presented for the first time this year for the award of ‘Best Sound Production’. The trophy was commissioned by the IPF AV Group Committee by Michael Killen.
Attendances were up on both days, as was the attendance of 40 at the Gala Dinner in Áras Chrónáin. 24 attended a meal in Bewleys on the Friday night and almost as many rounded off the event with a meal before dispersing to various parts of the country. It was great to have attendances from England, Germany and our friends from NIPA.
Before the announcement of the prizes and showing of the winning sequences, Jill Bunting & John Smith showed some of their sequences along with showing how they made them both visually and sound wise.
