Visit by Richard Brown, FRPS, EFIAP, FIPF, APAGB
Following Richard’s judging of the IPF AV National Championships in Clondalkin in October, 2014, he offered to host a workshop in Shannon, with the main aim of preparing AV workers for IPF Distinctions.
This has now been arranged for Saturday, 11th April, 2015 in the Spruce Room in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m. The hotel has offered B&B on 11th April for €69.00 for two sharing, special deal for the Camera Club. Telephone is 061-361500. We plan to have an outing on the Sunday depending on the weather.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an advice workshop on gaining distinctions in Audio Visual. Richard will work the day around the four people who will bring their sequences for advice. Whether you have distinctions, wish to go for more or want to learn – this day is for YOU! The committee are working on a document on distinctions but what is needed is no less than 8 minutes for a Licentiateship, for an Associateship, no less than 12 minutes, and for a Fellowship, no less than 20 minutes. For both Associateship and Fellowship, written statements are needed with the application, which will be read out to the judges.
Richard is on the Royal Photographic Society Multi Media & Narrative Distinctions panel. He has a wealth of experience in this field.
There will no charge for the day. The IPF AV Group will be hosting the event and look forward to seeing all those interested in the medium of Audio Visual.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Richard Brown is unwell and will not be able to give an AV Workshop in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, on Saturday, 11th April. However, the room is booked and the workshop will go ahead from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m. Attendees are welcome to come along with their tips, problems and sequences and we look forward to seeing as many AV workers as possible. We wish Richard well and hope to see him in Ireland at a future date.

Edwin Bailey came third with “Winter Reflection” and he also won a Highly Commended with “Stained Images” as did Lilian Webb with “Maglia Rosa”.
