The 32nd FIAP Monochrome Print Biennial took place recently in Turkey and we are delighted to announce that Ireland has placed highly once again in this international competition receiving a FIAP Honourable Mention and joint 6th place overall for its panel. Congratulations to all photographers whose images were selected for the panel.
We are also delighted to announce that in addition to the overall results, two photographers representing Ireland were awarded with medals. Congratulations to John Hickey from Limerick Camera Club who was awarded a FIAP Silver Medal for ‘A Life of Steam’ and Gabriel O’Shaughnessy from Dundalk Photographic Society who was awarded with PAFT (Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey) Bronze Medal for ‘Mickey Morris’. To put these awards in context, there were nine medals awarded in the competition to individual photographers and we are very proud to have John & Gabriel selected as recipients of two of these.
Thank you to all the photographers who supported the theme of ‘Irish Environmental Portraiture’ at the IPF Print & Projected Image Competition for the past two years. The theme for the next Monochrome Biennial will be announced shortly.
Final thank you to Denis Whelehan and the team of selectors who have once again done a great job.
