The finals of the IPF National Print & Projected Image Competition 2014/2015 took place on Saturday February 21st in the Skyline Suite at Hotel Kilkenny. The competition this year is once again very generously sponsored by Canon.
We are delighted to announce the overall winner of the 2014/2015 competition as Hugh Wilkinson from Creative Photo Imaging Club for his image ‘Hard Times.
Lilian Webb, IPF Vice-President speaking about the event:
“When John Cuddihy, organiser of the weekend in Hotel Kilkenny, asked me to stand in for Michael O’Sullivan IPF President who was unavailable due to a prior engagement, I was happy to do so.
An enormous amount of work was done in advance and on the days to get the thousand or more images from around the four regions in various categories ready for the judging process. He was ably assisted by fellow members of Kilkenny Photographic Society and by Niamh Whitty and Jason Town from Cork Camera Group who did sterling work in keeping the scores of each image, for finalising the award process. Our thanks to them and to everyone else who helped out over the course of the competition.
The three eminent judges were Leo Palmer, FRPS, FPSA, GMPSA, EFIAP, APAGB, Peter Gennard, MFIAP, EFIAP/p and Sandy Cleland, FRPS, AFIAP who we thank for their hard work. A packed room witnessed the judging process and awards ceremony, with prize winners from around the country.
Our gratitude to our sponsors Canon who provided a whole range of prizes, from stunning copies of the exhibition book ‘Out of Thin Air’ for the regional winners, then for the section winners on the day a Canon Ixus 160 camera plus the book. The overall winner also receives a Canon 70D camera and Canon Pixma Pro-1 printer!”
We are delighted to share with you the winning images below and pictures from the awards ceremony.
