John Hooton, 53, married with three children, living in Mallow, Co. Cork.
Self employed cabinet maker for the last 30 years with his own company.
Took up photography over 30 years ago and only moved to digital photography three years ago. Up to then all his images were taken on slide film.
John is one of the founder members of Mallow Camera Club. His photographic distinctions include, Fellowship from the Irish Photographic Federation – FIPF Fellowship from the Royal Photograhic Society – FRPS Master International Federation of Photographic Art – M.FIAP
John has won numerous awards from the Irish Photographic Federation, The Royal Photographic Society, The Photographic Society of America, FIAP, and has had exhibitions of his work here in Ireland, Croatia, Brittany, Springfield Mass. U.S.A.
John is a member of the Permajet team of lecturers and lectures extensively throughout Ireland and in October of 2012 did a lecture tour in the U.K.
John also hosts photographic workshop weekends in Dingle throughout the year.
John is also a member of the adjudication panel for the IPF Distinctions.
The exhibition will be on the DCC Gallery until the 9th of March and will open Saturdays from 11am to 5pm.
