The National Club Finals loom closer with the deadline for entry into this year’s event just under two weeks away on May 1st.
The two day event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th in Athlone Institute of Technology.
Guest judges will be visiting from overseas to adjudicate this major event, with the overall results being announced on Sunday evening.
This year the event will be judged by Tom Dodd FRPS FIPF DPAGB, Libby Smith MPAGB EFIAP, and Bob Underhill AIPF APAGB.
Entry forms and rules are available on the website for download. Please note some changes to rules this year.
The main change requires each club to submit a CD of the images (each 1024 by 768 pixels) entered in each panel in the competition in addition to the regular requirements – see rules for full details.
Completed forms together with an A4 sheet containing thumbnails of the images, a CD of the images, and that appropriate fee should be sent to Deirdre Gaffney, 13 Ard na Mara, Malahide, Co. Dublin.
The fee for two panels is €35 and one panel is €20. Cheques should be made payable to Irish Photographic Federation.
Accommodation is again available at the Creggan Court Hotel (090 647 7777), near the competition venue. There will also be a dinner on the Saturday night – places can be booked directly with the hotel or through event co-ordinator, Deirdre Gaffney.
There will also be a distinctions sitting on Saturday May 19th.
Further details of the weekend programme to follow shortly.
