The National League Finals will take place in Athlone this weekend and are expected to attract large numbers overthe two day event, this Saturday and Sunday, April 16th and 17th.
Photographers from camera clubs aroundthe country will gather in Athlone Institute of Technology this weekend forwhat is one of the biggest competitive events in the amateur photography calendar in Ireland.
Guest judges will be visiting from overseas to adjudicate the competition, with theoverall results being announced on Sunday evening. Monochrome panels will be on view for judging on Saturday, while colour panels will be on view for judging on Sunday.
The two day event will also include a guestlecture by renowned wildlife photographer and Canon Ambassador Mike Brown at 2pm on Sunday afternoon, a distinctions sitting on Saturday, and the AGM of the Irish Photographic Federation on Sunday.
The IPF will also be honouring Council Member Sean Casey FIPF, MFIAP, EFIAP, who will be retiring from the IPF National Council after over thirty years of working to ensure the success and direction of the organisation. He has held the role of National Secretary for many of those years and is also a past President.
The IPF will be recognising this achievement at a special ceremony (prior to dinner) in the Creggan Court Hotel, Athlone this Saturday April 16th. The IPF welcomes those who know Sean and the contribution he has made to Irish photography to join in celebrating this milestone.
