It was great to meet you all at the national shield in Palmerstown Sports centre on the 18thNovember a total of 27 clubs entered from all over the Country. The standard was very high and congratulations to the winners. I know how difficult it is for clubs to put panels together for the National Shield having been competition secretary in my own club (Palmerstown Camera Club) for a number of years. I think all the hard work the clubs have put into this competition has paid off. It was truly remarkable to see all the panels displayed in the Exhibition hall on the day.
To all the clubs who could not enter I know it is difficult and perhaps you will enter in the future years. Please remember the enjoyment of seeing your image up on display representing your club is fantastic.
I would like to thank all the clubs who entered, Palmerstown Camera Club members who helped out on the day Ita Martin and Tony Murray who worked hard as part of the background team. Huge thanks to the judges I think you would agree they did a great job and their comments were more than helpful Tim Gleeson who gave a fantastic presentation on underwater photography.
I think you will agree the venue was perfect for this competition and I would like to thank Stephen and John from the sports complex who were a great help and making sure we had everything we needed.
Just to end I would like to wish everyone success with their photography as it is your images that makes these competitions as successful as they are and to the competition sectaries and selection committees out there, keep up the good work.
Thanking you
