The National Finals of the IPF Photographer of the Year Competition take place in February each year. The finals are a culmination of regional qualifying rounds from our four regions (SACC, Mid-East, Mid-West, and North-East). The regional qualifying rounds take place between December and January.
This competition is open to individual photographers, both amateur and professional, who are members of clubs affiliated to the Irish Photographic Federation. Entries are made online between October and November.
The competition is now closed for entries.

The purpose of the competition is to allow photographers showcase their work and compete with their peers. Given the very high standard of work submitted, especially that of the award winners, it’s one of the highlights of the Irish photography calendar.
At the finals, images are assessed and scored by three international judges. This is done in front of an audience and is open to the public. The unique nature of this competition draws large crowds from all over the country and we are grateful to our sponsors for supporting this unique event.
