Celtic Challenge Results 2013

October 1, 2013 by Niamh Whitty Leave a Comment

Celtic Challenge 2013 CorkCongratulations to Scotland who won this years Celtic Challenge Competition which was held in Cork. Ireland finished in second place but didn’t go home empty-handed as Judy Boyle from Drogheda Photographic Club was awarded with the title of ‘Best Colour Print’ for her image ‘De Girls’. Well done Judy! Overall results are listed below and are also available to download. Each federation will receive a copy of the scores for each of its images.
Thanks to Peter Clark FRPS EFIAP/p APSA MPSA who judged the competition and provided commentary on many of the images.
A major thank you is also due to our selection committee, especially Denis Whelehan, who put so much time and effort into selecting the images to represent Ireland at international competitions.
Finally, our sincere thanks and congratulations to the SACC organising committee (Bill Power, John Doheny, John Hogan, Neily Curtin & Niamh Whitty) and everyone else involved who did an outstanding job all weekend and did us proud as this years hosts. We’ve heard nothing but very positive feedback from the other federations and guests who enjoyed the outings, dinner, music and lectures very much. Thank you. Check out the SACC’s article on the event here.
An exhibition of most of the prints from this years competition is currently open in County Hall Cork and runs until October 11th. Entry is free, so if you are in the area, please stop by and take a look.
