This is an exhibition drawn from the members of Camera Clubs throughout Ireland.
It is organised by the Irish Photographic Federation, which is the representative body for camera clubs in Ireland. The IPF is affiliated with the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and through it with UNESCO.
Each year the IPF arranges an open submission competition where all members of affiliated Camera Clubs are requested to submit their images. The top scoring images are then used to represent Ireland at FIAP organised World Competitions.
This exhibition is a selection from the competition arranged for 2011. It includes a selection of images from members throughout Ireland including images from members of Celbridge Camera Club, who were placed 3rd in the FIAP World Cup and Dundalk Photographic Society, who were placed 1st in the FIAP World Cup. The FIAP World Cup is an inter camera club competition.
The IPF also publishes the Photography Ireland yearbook. This is an open submission yearbook, where all photographers in Ireland are requested to submit their images. The selected images are then published in the Yearbook. Copies are available in the Gallery for purchase at the reduced cost of €15.
The exhibition is open every Saturday from 11am to 5pm until 04 June.
