#lovetoPHOTO – A Photo Initiative from Voluntary Arts Ireland

August 4, 2015 by Niamh Whitty Leave a Comment

11053066_1627493654134182_8079077032646496808_oWe are excited to be involved in an initiative with Voluntary Arts Ireland, The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) and specifically our nearest PAGB neighbours, The Northern Ireland Photographic Association (NIPA) to give our members the opportunity to showcase their work to a broader audience. The essence of the idea is that when posting images to social media from now until the end of August, the members are encouraged to add the hashtag #lovetoPHOTO The initiative is designed to highlight the arts & crafts that exist in local and national associations across these Islands. For the IPF it gives us a chance to demonstrate the wealth of talent that exists in our clubs in Ireland. We will also add the hashtag #lovetophoto to any posts we make promoting IPF or regional events. There is no guarantee, but it is hoped that the BBC will run a feature at a later date. By using this hashtag on your social media posts, VAI can see the posts and share them for their own members to see.

You can find more information at

http://www.voluntaryarts.org/2015/07/01/capture-the-moment-with-lovetophoto/

Let’s see an avalanche of fantastic photography posts!

To be involved all you need to do is to consider using the hashtags #lovetoPHOTO if you are posting images to social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest and Tumblr) during the period July – September.  What a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent of our members and have your images join all the other images submitted by Irish, UK and Northern Ireland photographers.

For those hashtag novices, simply type #lovetoPHOTO along with the caption to your image. It allows all images with the same hashtag to be searched (like adding keywords in Lightroom) and displayed.

You can follow all the #LovetoPHOTO fun as it happens via
Facebook – www.facebook.com/LovetoHQ
Twitter – www.twitter.com/LovetoHQ
Instagram – www.instagram.com/LovetoHQ
Or search for the hashtag and see what comes up!
