Ireland’s Premier Weekend of Photography returns to Mullingar this May

May 17th and 18th, Mullingar County Buildings and Mullingar Arts Centre

National Club Championship  • May Distinctions Sitting  •  Talks  •  Exhibition of Internationally Acclaimed Winning Images

Ireland’s leading photography clubs and societies will come together this May in Mullingar County Buildings to compete for the IPF Rose Bowl trophy, with the winners taking away the title of Top Irish Club.
Over the course of the weekend of May 17th and 18th, Ireland’s best photographers will display their best work in the atrium of the Mullingar County Buildings.
On show will be the work of camera club members who have won numerous medals and commendations at exhibitions and salons all across the globe including this year’s Bronze medal winners at the FIAP Clubs World Cup, Drogheda Photographic Club.
Along with the display of photographs from the competition, there will also be a distinctions sitting on the Saturday, the 17th, where photographers from any photographic background will seek to gain formal qualifications and have their work assessed by panels of very experienced and accomplished photographers. Each candidate will put forward either 10,15 or 20 images depending on the level they are being assessed at and with usually 50-60 applicants, there will be thousands of photographs on display over the course of the weekend.
As well as the competition and distinctions sittings, there will be a number of other program items over the weekend. See below for additional details.
The images from the competition will be on show on both days from 1pm until 5pm in the atrium of the Mullingar County Buildings and the distinctions sitting will start at 10am and continue until 5pm in the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday, the 17th of May.
Admission is free to all and the IPF welcomes everyone to come and see some great photography from clubs across the country.
