The Northern Ireland Photographic Association’s Audio Visual Festival, 2016 was held in Ballyearl Arts & Leisure Centre on 20th February. The judge of the All Ireland section was Howard Bagshaw, ARPS, MPAGB.
Celbridge Camera Club’s sequence “The Bog of Allen” was highly commended. The members who contributed were Brendan O’Sullivan, Noel Mahony, Bridie Maughan, Rita Nolan, Dallas Camier, Margaret Finlay, Lilian Webb, Michael Linehan & Mark Sedgwick.
Liam Haines with “Townships” also received a highly commended.
Rita Nolan’s sequence “A Father’s Love” came third.
Celbridge Camera Club’s other sequence “St. Brigid’s Pastures” was awarded second place. Those who contributed to the sequence were Brendan O’Sullivan, Bridie Maughan, Rita Nolan, Liam O’Reilly, Cliff Hutchinson & Lilian Webb.
The winner was Margaret Finlay with “Sweet Afton” from Palmerstown Camera Club.
Alan Lyons of the IPF AV Group, won the best creative sound prize for “Night Soil or Mind Your Language”
In the “battle” between the Federations, Raymond Hughes from Merville Newtownabbey Camera Club representing NIPA won with “To What End”, which also won the IPF AV International section last year.
