IPF National Shield 2016 Open for Entry

FineArtPapersThe 2016 IPF National Shield competition is now open for entries. We are delighted to welcome back Canson Infinity papers, along with their distributor Fine Art Papers as sponsors for this competition.

Rules and entry form can be downloaded below. Entry form should be sent to Shield Co-Ordinator Joe Doyle at the email address provided in the entry form document.

  • Closing date for registration and entry is October 30th 2016 (register and pay below).

The competition will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Cork City on the Saturday 12th November. Details the schedule will be provided shortly. We’re hoping for another record entry this year!

This competition is open to non-advanced photographers only as defined in the rules document. Please refer to this to check if you are eligible to compete.

We have three excellent judges coming over to assist us

  • Linda Wevill FRPS 
  • Jane Lines MPAGB BPE5* LRPS 
  • Terry Donnelly FRPS FSWPP MPAGB FBPE EFIAP 

In addition, we have two super speakers – Eithne Ni Anluain and Paul Reidy LIPF AFIAP

To help us manage costs, there is a very nominal charge of just €2 per person per lecture.

Canson Infinity (fond blanc)

In terms of times and deadlines, we want to keep this as simple as possible for everyone. Please confirm your club is taking part as soon as possible and provide payment by Paypal by 23rd October at the latest (via the form below – inlacing payment). The actual entry form and final selection of images must be sent by October 30th. The entry fee is €75 whether you are entering one or two panels.

You must fill out the registration form below even if you plan to pay by cheque (although PayPal is preferred method of payment).

The Shield competition is one of the largest clubs events for the IPF and we need as much notice as possible of number of clubs competing so we can manage the logistics.

Canson Infinity 

Started in France in 1557, Canson has a long history of making papers and today manufactures some of the finest inkjet photographic paper available today.
2015 sees them celebrate 150years of one of the worlds first patents for photographic paper which they took out in 1865 and is also marked by them achieving the 2015 TIPA Award for the best inkjet paper, Canson Photo Lustre Premium 310gsm, which they recently introduced.
Recognised by Epson as one of their approved third party papers under their Digigraphie programme, every Canson Infinity paper has been submitted for quality and print permanence rating by the Wilhelm Research institute and their Baryta and Platine papers have set new standards for fine art printing.

Fine Art Papers

Fine Art Papers which is run by Sheldon Long is the Canson Infinity paper distributor for Ireland and is also an Epson Pro dealer. They specialise in selling the finest papers, printers and inks through their website  www.sheldonphoto.com,  and are used by many of the most successful photographic studios and photographers in Ireland and further afield. Sheldon’s knowledge is very extensive and he regularly gives talks for camera clubs.
