Mullingar becomes the epicentre of photography this May

April 23, 2015 by Niamh Whitty Leave a Comment

Photofans, we have an exciting of weekend of photography delights for you this May 16th and 17th. On Saturday we will have the nail biting tension of the distinctions sitting, the monochrome entries for the Club Championship and food and chat at dinner in Annebrook House Hotel. And on Sunday, we have the Annual General Meeting, a talk from Lightroom expert Sean McCormack and display of the colour panels of the Club Championship, with comments and prize giving.

National Club Championship 2015

The bright and airy atrium of the Mullingar County Buildings is where the club entries will be displayed, with the monochrome work on display from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday and the colour photos on show on Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. It will be interesting to see if Dundalk retain their title for a fourth year running or if there are any worthy contenders that can pip them at the post.

May Distinctions Sitting

Always an exciting element of the weekend, the distinctions sitting will see photographers submit their work for three levels of assessment: Licenciateship, Associateship and Fellowship. If you’ve never seen a sitting, it’s well worth coming along, you’ll see some amazing work and come away inspired! Check out some previously successful panels to get your creative juices flowing here.

Lightroom Talk

Professional photographer and highly regarded Lightroom expert, Sean McCormack, will give a talk on Lightroom. Sean is an Adobe Community Professional for Lightroom with several books under his belt: Photoshop Lightroom Made Easy for PIP, Essential Development and Craft and Vision. Sean has had his photos published in numerous magazines and newspapers including; Hot Press, Lightroom Magazine, Sunday Independent Life, and the Sunday Business Post to name a few. We look forward to hearing his expert knowledge of Lightroom.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and new, it should be an enjoyable weekend of photography. Hope to see you in May in Mullingar.
