The IPF Awards Committee was pleased to approve the nomination by Drogheda Photographic Club of Tommy Duffy AIPF for the Peter Slattery Memorial Award Medal.
Tommy Duffy AIPF
Tommy Duffy has been a member of the Drogheda Photographic Club for over 30 years. In that time Tommy always was on the club’s committee and has been Hon Secretary for the past 19 years. He is always a willing volunteer every time there is work to be done especially when it comes to organise or hang an exhibition. Tommy got his AIPF with a very creative colour panel, photographed with slide film and printed by him using the colour cibachrome process. Tommy also had a keen interest in audio visual photography which complimented his photography and a love for music.
Tommy was thrilled to get the Peter Slattery medal as Peter had lectured many times in Drogheda Photographic Club and Tommy knew him well. Also Peter had donated a magnificent trophy to the club which is still in use for one of the top awards each year at the club’s annual exhibition.
