Unstoppable Dundalk win once again!

May 18, 2014 by Niamh Whitty 1 Comment

.
permajet-black-straplineCongratulations go to Dundalk Photographic Society who once again claimed the title of overall winners of this year’s IPF National Club Championship and the highly coveted Rosebowl trophy.  For the individual awards, congratulations to Michael O’Sullivan from Cork Camera Group who won best colour print and Seamus Costelloe from Kilkenny Photographic Society who won best monochrome print.
This year 24 clubs competed for the top prize and with standards rising year on year, it proved another fierce battle with many outstanding images on display. Congratulations to every photographer who was represented on their club’s panel – given the standard of club photography in Ireland at the moment, that is in itself a fine achievement and we look forward to seeing more outstanding images next year.
Thank you to Competition Co-Ordinator Darragh Sherwin for all his hard work organising the event. Thanks also to all those who assisted him, including members of Mullingar Camera Club.
Thank you to Permajet for their generous sponsorship of this event.
Final thanks to Westmeath County Council for once again allowing us to use their beautiful venue – The Council Buildings.

Compliments to all concerned for a fantastic show at the IPF National Club Championship. Particularly, Mullingar for the super venue and to Bob Morrison for his tireless efforts coordinating matters at the distinctions and for helping me with my talk on Sunday. Members of Mullingar who helped me setting up and transporting prints. Darragh Sherwin for your help, a big thanks. Niamh & Jason who work tirlessly in the background and foreground. John Cuddihy who has endless energy in his input to the IPF. To the new friends i have made, Judy Boyle and Ann Cassidy, it was a pleasure being in your company. All the best to Michael Sullivan as new president. Michael is one tallented photographer and will be a very capable president. Seamus Costelloe.
